“All-on-four” or “Teeth in a Day” are innovative dental implant solutions for patients who are missing all of their upper or lower teeth. This fixed denture solution provides edentulous patients with superior stability and comfort. All-on-four implant dentures replace natural chewing function and aesthetics better than traditional removable dentures.
Dr. Stephen Hoard is one of the few dentists in the New Bern area to provide this revolutionary treatment. “All-on-four” or “Teeth in a Day” is a restorative dentistry treatment that Dr. Steven Hoard offers to the public.
All on Four dental implants are highly aesthetic, comfortable and extremely long lasting. Dr. Hoard’s restorations are fabricated in the United States, at Bay View Dental Laboratory, one of the world’s leading dental labs.
Comparison: All on Four vs. Dentures
Traditional dentures simply rest on the upper or lower jaw and rely on adhesives to keep them in place. It’s not uncommon for patients to complain about the denture slipping out of place, or of difficulty chewing food and/or fears over losing their denture.
The All on Four solution uses as few as four, strategically placed dental implants to secure a hybrid bridge or overdenture into the jawbone. The result is a restoration that looks and feels very natural.
Benefits of All on Four Dental Implants

All On Four What to Expect
All on Four treatment is possible with advanced CAD/CAM technology and skillful treatment planning. Using the latest 3D x-ray and oral scanning technology, Dr. Hoard can get a clear picture of the structures inside the mouth. Using innovative software, Dr. Hoard can precisely plan the ideal location for dental implants to support a flexible dental restoration.
From the planning software, a surgical guide is created to ensure a high level of predictability in the outcome. With an All on Four treatment, patients never have to go without their teeth. An implant-supported temporary prosthesis is screwed onto the implants immediately following the surgery. The prosthetic is very comfortable and natural looking for a aesthetic benefit and will also aid in the healing process as the implants integrate with the living bone.
There are several options for the final restoration and Dr. Hoard will help you select which is best for your needs and goals. Dr. Hoard partners with Bay View Dental Laboratory for the design and fabrication of cosmetic dental restorations. Bay View is one of the world’s foremost dental labs, located in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Dr. Hoard will attach the final restoration to the dental implants in his New Bern dental office.
Is All On Four Right For You?
There are certain qualifications for the All on Four dental implant procedure. Patients should be in overall good health with a sufficient amount of bone. Dr. Hoard may recommend bone grafting treatment for patients who have suffered significant bone loss. Patients are encouraged to not smoke, or quit smoking, as it can negatively impact the outcome of the treatment.

No. All-on-4 dental implants are permanent teeth that do not have to be taken out. Only a dentist can remove All-on-four dental implants. This is only done in an emergency or because of an increase in health issues.
Certain types of medical conditions (such as uncontrolled diabetes) may disqualify you from the All-on-4 procedure. Patients taking antidepressants should be aware of the increased risk of implant failure. Patients undergoing radiation therapy of the jaw are usually not eligible for dental implants.
